Types of Power Plant

Hello Friends

We had see my last blog about Power station.

Now we will discuss about types of Power Plant/ Power Station.

1) Thermal Power Plant

Fig. Block diagram of Thermal Power Plant

Thermal Power Plant is deals with type of Power station which is convert heat energy into electrical energy.

It Convert heat energy released to burning the fossil fuels (Coal) into electrical energy.

In the Thermal Power Plant coal is burnt in boilers and Use heat energy boil water  producing the pressurized steams, and that steams rotating the turbine. After that turbine is moving on shaft of generator it's converte the mechanical energy into electrical energy.

The generated electrical energy with the help of above process used by power generation and distribution or transmission.

2) Hydro Electric Power Plant

Hydro electric power plant is known as hydro plant.

Hydro plant are generally located on the near water source.

The hydro power plant generate electricity base on the flow of water.

In hydro power plant using kinetic energy of flowing water to rotate turbine.

The turbine are moving a generator shaft and power are generate.

3) Nuclear Power Plant

Nuclear power plant is type of Power plant which is deal with nuclear reactors to produce heat during the nuclear fission to boil water and produce pressurized steams.

Nuclear power plant is also known as Atomic Power plants.

4) Solar Power Plant

Solar power plant is type of power plant which is deal with sun light/ rays is converted into power/ electricity.

solar power plant is absorb heat from sun, causing chemical reaction, generate electricity.

solar plant is based on the convertion of sun light/ rays into electricity.

There are some major component are include solar power plant:

  • solar Panels
  • Inverter
  • Batteries
  • charge controller
  • Meter
  • ACDC Converter
5) Wind Power Plant

Wind Power Plant is type of power plant that deal with  the  sustainable and renewable energy source that efficiently converts wind energy into electricity. Wind turbines, resembling airplane wings or helicopter rotor blades, utilize the aerodynamic force from the rotor blades to generate electricity,
